Sony Monitors

Shopping for a Sony monitor

Sony is the largest Japanese manufacturer of home electronics equipment. They manufacture everything from mini stereo systems and automotive theater systems to computer electronics. What they are well known for is for their Sony flat panel monitor. They produce a wide range of monitors suitable for use in your home entertainment theater or for use on their own line of Vaio laptops.

Sony LCD Monitors

Sony has a wide range of LCD monitors under their Bravia Brand. The Sony flat screen monitor with OLED technology is one of the thinnest monitors available today. It uses a 3 millimeter thin organic LED backlight to produce ultra crisp, high-contrast images. This digital marvel has an ultra fast response time, resulting in great picture reproduction with fast-moving images and no ghosting. The OLED technology can turn the off the pixels completely allowing for true blacks and the highest available contrast ratio. The OLED technology is highly energy efficient; when the pixels are off they truly are off and don’t consume any electricity.

The Bravia line of Sony monitors range in size from 19 inches to an enormous 65 inches wide. The large units are fully digital-ready with HD1080p resolution. Equipped with USB inputs, Sony LCD monitors have the capability to play images, music and video directly from a USB stick. Their Motionflow technology allows for a great viewing experience while watching fast-paced video. Some of the monitors are equipped with a motion sensor located in the front of the bezel; when you’ve stepped away from the screen for an extended period, it will shut itself down.

Sony Computer Monitor Features

The smallest line of monitors is fully equipped to be used with HDMI inputs as well as connecting directly to PCs. They have dynamic backlighting controls that automatically adjust the brightness of the screen, making these monitors very intuitive. When purchasing a monitor, understand the types of features that are important to you and how you will use this television. If energy efficiency is important, the majority of Sony LCD monitors are energy star compliant. While not cheap, for a home theater the 65 inch wide monitor is the way to go. Producing crisp, colorful images, with the ability to sync completely to a Sony audio system, it will provide movie theater quality all while sitting in the comfort of your own home.
